Weary

34

One of my 'unmentionables' is on my kitchen table...I don't remember how it got there, but I do know it's presence is a glaring indicator of my chaotic life.  Since the beginning of the year, I've resolved to change and be like:
-my friend who was cleaning out 30 drawers in 30 days
-my cousin's family who is getting rid of 2016 items in 2016
-my friend who declared: "New Year, New You"
I tried...one drawer cleaned and 70 items gone, but instead...I signed up for two online classes and another that meets weekly for three hours and involves a two-hour round trip drive.

Friday afternoon a student asked me why I was so sad all the time...but I wasn't sad...I was worn and tired and proceeded to spend most all of Saturday in my bathrobe shuffling about like a convalescent (when I wasn't sleeping)

I don't know what to blame...feeling nauseous every day for more than a month takes its toll and sucks energy from my marrow. For now I'll take the advice of Kansas: "{Rise} above the noise and confusion...Lay your weary head to rest...don't you cry no more." Or, better yet, Matthew: "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." (11:28)
