Oceans

34
You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery

In oceans deep

My faith will stand

Eighteen months ago my friend was called to the other side of the world
Each time I heard the song Oceans
I prayed, and sometimes cried.

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise

My soul will rest in Your embrace

For I am Yours and You are mine

Eight months ago my cousin was called to France.

The Sunday before she left, she was directly in front of me as we sang Oceans in church;

I prayed and cried.

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide

Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me

You've never failed and You won't start now

Eight weeks ago I was ready embark on a summer with a God-designed itinerary. He'd called me. Dressed in travel clothes, just hours before my departure, we sang Oceans in church; I cried because of His faithfulness.

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise

My soul will rest in Your embrace

For I am Yours and You are mine

Two weeks ago, my friend came across the waters and we attended the Hillsong United Conference in London. At the opening ceremony, the songwriter and praise team sang Oceans;  I was overwhelmed and all that I'd experiences over the past months welled up within me and burst out my eyes--all the while smiling and praising.

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

Last week, I swam in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of France--I've never swam in the ocean, it wasn't on my list or itinerary, but it's always been in my heart. He knows me well. I laughed and giggled and couldn't wipe the grin off my face.

Oh, Jesus, you're my God!
