My 'commute' to work is about three and a half to five minutes, depending on traffic, and recently, sewer reconstruction has disrupted my usual route. To pass the time I listen to the radio; both to and from work today, the song Strong Enough was playing. This afternoon, it was followed by Stand in the Rain.
STRONG ENOUGH
You must You must think I'm strong To give me what I'm going through Well, forgive me Forgive me if I'm wrong But this looks like more than I can do On my own I know I'm not strong enough to be everything that I'm supposed to be I give up I'm not stong enough Hands of mercy won't you cover me Lord right now I'm asking you to be Strong enough Strong enough For the both of us Well, maybe Maybe that's the point To reach the point of giving up Cause when I'm finally Finally at rock bottom Well, that's when I start looking up And reaching out Cause I'm broken Down to nothing But I'm still holding on to the one thing You are God and you are strong When I am weak I can do all things Through Christ who gives me strength And I don't have to be Strong enough Strong enough
STAND IN THE RAIN She never slows down. She doesn't know why but she knows that when she's all alone, feels like it's all coming down She won't turn around The shadows are long and she fears if she cries that first tear, the tears will not stop raining down [CHORUS] So stand in the rain Stand your ground Stand up when it's all crashing down You stand through the pain You won't drown And one day, what's lost can be found You stand in the rain She won't make a sound Alone in this fight with herself and the fears whispering if she stands she'll fall down She wants to be found The only way out is through everything she's running from wants to give up and lie down.
