This morning (9:01am) I got a call confirming next week's Ga68 scan, however in spite of it being half the cost and less time (an hour instead of 36 hours) of the scan usually performed, my insurance is not approving it. There will be a doctor-to-doctor review today (my Dr. is out-of-town so a colleague, Dr. L will be filling in); if it's not approved today, UIHC will have to resubmit and start the claim process again. The claim process requires UIHC to resubmit all my medical information and procedure codes, then the insurance company gives them a small window in which to call for a doctor-to-doctor review, once that window expires, the process begins again. Today is the expiration date, which is why a colleague is filling in.
The prescription that I attempted to have refilled last Friday has still not been authorized for refill.

I was just reading the above excerpt when the phone rang (10:11am) and it was from UIHC, "Lisa, you're not going to believe this," it was Nurse N and she was a little giddy, "but I had to let you know the scan was approved. Dr. L said that's never happened before." "Oh N,,,," I could hardly speak because of the happy tears and knowing how great God is, "I was just sending out a prayer request to family and friends."
"Well, maybe I should send you this list of other scans that need to be approved."
